About Me

My name is Lauren Threlfall, and I am a primary school teacher in Brisbane, Queensland. I have just finished studying a Bachelor of Education at Queensland University of Technology and I am looking forward to graduating in December 2012.

I believe that reflection is one of the most important types of teaching development, and through this portfolio, I plan to continuously develop and build my personal and professional pedagogy.

I have worked with children for many years, and I love collecting and constructing ideas to develop a creative, hands-on classroom. Through my work and professional experiences, I learned how positive, healthy relationships can fuel a successful learning experience for every student in the classroom. I am hoping my passion and love for life, will influence my future teaching. Inciting passion in my students, just like a teacher once did for me.

Through my blog, I have become a part of an online teaching community. This has allowed me to share and reflect upon my ideas, and seek new, creative ideas from others. In my spare time I enjoy knitting, playing old 60s songs on ukulele, photography and running around with my dog, Baxter. I would love to hear from you. So please click on the Contact Me tab, and leave me a message.

The important thing is not so much that every child should be taught,
as that every child should be given the wish to learn.
